21-year-old youth identified as Mashuk Ahmed died allegedly due to medical negligence in Cachar district again.
Within a span of few days, multiple allegations of negligence have been raised on Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH) and SM Dev Civil Hospital in Cachar, Assam.
Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH) allegedly involved in negligence while treating patients for multiple times. No matter how serious the patient is, the hospital authorities only dig their nose to test them for COVID. Reportedly, a 21-year-old youth identified as Mashuk Ahmed died allegedly due to medical negligence in Cachar district again.
A few days ago, Sayan Das, similarly, a 26 years young boy from Bilpar Silchar scummed due to negligence by the SMCH authority. Both the SMCH and SMDCH failed to provide any primary treatment to Sayan in the name of COVID protocols. Not only that, but neither of the hospital authority can also clarify the cause of his death yet.
The family members of the deceased 21-year-old Mashuk Ahmed alleged that the doctors did not attend the patient who was admitted in the medicine ward for long. “He was tested negative for the COVID-19. Thereafter, he was given oxygen after several requests were made in the hospital and later, he was shifted to the medicine ward where the doctors had not visited him,” one of his family members alleged. The family demanded justice and appropriate action against the hospital authority.
Hospital authorities are irresponsive to the new patients before testing them for COVID, no matter how serious they actually are. They refer their negligences as protocol and the but for the victims, it is nothing but the loss of life. Do COVID protocols are larger than life? Protocols is for life or loss of life due to protocol?
