Why were Ajmer Sharif returnees allowed to go home rather than taking them in Institutional Quarantine?
41 pilgrims from Ajmer Sharif Dargah of Rajasthan arrived at Silchar by bus on Wednesday last. Among the pilgrims a most-wanted car thief Faridul Islam a resident of Sonitpur district also traveled in the same bus.
The Ajmer Sharif returnees were allowed to go home after screening at Silchar. But the most-wanted car thief was isolated as he was found abnormal during screening. In the evening the accused car thief was tested corona positive. Immediately 40 other Ajmer Sharif returnees were called for isolation and tested 4 more corona positive among the pilgrims. On Friday 3 more positive case reported from the Ajmir Sharif returnees. As of now total 9 pilgrims tested corona positive out of 41 Ajmir Sharif returnees.
On the same day the district administration of Cahar has declared 11 villages as precautionary containment zone under three revenue circle in the district.
Health Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa sarma informed, the four patients Sahabuddin Shadiul, Rajuuddin Shadiul, Baby Begum Shadiul and Sabia Begum Shadiul went to Ajmer Sharif Dargah in Rajasthan from Silchar on 16th March.
Now question arises, why did the Ajmer Sharif returnees were allowed to go home rather taking them in Institutional Quarantine? People thinks, if the pilgrims were isolated after the arrival, no such situation would have created today.
