Rain is doing massive destruction in the cities. During the pandemic like situation, it is just becoming harder to count the damages caused by the unstoppable rain. Many cities already faced flood. Assam is one of the greatest victims of flood 2020 among the others. Where the major portion of the state is still struggling with flood issue, a huge banyan tree falls on a car at the middle of the road at Silchar. This made the disgusting disturbance in the busiest road of Silchar, Assam on Thursday afternoon.
The giant banyan tree almost blocked the Hailakandi road near Nightingale Hospital. The Hailakandi Road of Silchar has the most important institutions like Silchar Medical College, Assam University, Polytechnical, NIT to various other hospitals. Meanwhile, both the AUS and NIT turned as quarantine centre. In this situation, a banyan tree suddenly broke and fall down on a private car. Luckily, the middle-aged Ramendu Sekhar Choudhury and his mother, the resident of Sun City were free from any injuries. Otherwise, the deadly broken tree may hamper their lives.
Many ambulances with serious patients have to stop due to this road blockage. The doctors and health workers who are bound for Medical College and quarantine centres also faced traffic problems to reach their service spots.
The concerned department was yet to reach until the recovery of the damaged car from the spot of the incident. Precaution is better than cure. The concerned authority should take care of the rain damages before these types of destruction takes place. The eye-witnessed locals revelled their disgrace on the concerned department for unsystematic crisis management. Mention can be made, another incident of falling tree on a car very recently reported from Malugram of Silchar.
