The beam of hope was actually awake the people of Silchar Assam, as road repair work started in the city after Pijush Hazarika, the Minister of State visited Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH) on 20th July.

Local residents almost lost hope on the deadly road condition all over the city. During the pandemic, the tender patients also have to travel through the nostalgic Hailakandi road in the city every day. The road should have a special mention for the area near Meherpur Co-operative as it almost turned into a pond. Hailakandi Road at Silchar is being neglected for years. No maintenance made the road disgusting for travelling.

The negligence of poor road and traffic is more painful than pandemic while patients have to travel through the damaged roads. Silchar Medical College and Hospital is one among the hospitals who serving 100s of COVID patients daily in Assam. Apart from SMCH there are also a number of health units located there.

Many Public representatives and government officials daily travel through this road but no one put themselves forward to solve this issue. Pijush Hazarika also had to travel through the nostalgic road.
