Forest department on its re-eviction drive in Rajanikhal of Dhalai on Wednessday. The process of eviction demolishes about twenty houses. This is the second time when the administration gets bound to evict the illegal dwellers of Dhalai Rajanikhal area. Earlier the administration has already evicted almost 80 above families over there.
The public representatives allotted “PMAY Schemes” to the illegal encroachers just for vote bank politics. Five electricity transformer has been installed in the forest area. Intellectuals all over the city are questioning about how the illegal dwellers are residing there for years?
Meanwhile, the forest department decided to build a zoo at that place. Work is in progress. The dwellers are illegally residing here even after being evicted in the recent past. So the forest department re-evict about twenty families on the instructions of the administration.
People raised their voice against these dwellers after Rupam Paul murder case. Among those illegal resettlers from Rajanikhal, one has also recently found accused of trying to kill a minor after sexually assaulting her. With huge criticism from the pressure groups like Hindu Jagaran Mancha, the forest department takes the step. The Forest Department along with the Cachar Police carried out the eviction drive.
