Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) to probe a drug angle to Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case, further clarification will come after detailed investigation. Showik Chakraborty the brother of actress Rhea Chakraborty and Sushant’s house manager Samuel Miranda have been arrested by Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Saturday in connection with Rajput’s death. Mumbai’s Esplanade court had remanded Showik to NCB custody till September 9.
The actor’s death case is now a multi-agency affair with the CBI, the Enforcement Directorate, and the NCB probing various angles. Noticeably, the drug angle has been getting media attention with the racket seemingly showing a spread across states.
Showik and Rhea’s father Indrajit Chakraborty who is also a former Army doctor and a Lieutenant Colonel has condemned the arrest of his son on drug charges and also hammered the ongoing media trial on his daughter Rhea in connection with the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
NCB conducted a raid at Rhea Chakraborty’s residence on Friday morning and seized laptops, hard drives and a few other digital pieces of evidence. The raid was conducted a day after a Mumbai court sent alleged drug peddler Zaid Vilatra to seven-day custody of the NCB. Zaid confessed that he used to deal with Showik regarding the buying and selling of drugs.
Samuel Miranda, on the other hand, has also been arrested. Miranda has been accused of procuring drugs for Chakraborty. Interrogation regarding some WhatsApp chats of Showik mentioning drug links will now be probed.
