Namashudra Unnayan Samiti welcomes equal political participation in Barak Valley and decides to fill all the seats with the candidates of their community. No one from Namashudra Samaj has been given a place in politics yet in Barak Valley.
The members of Namashudra Unnayan Samiti made it clear that Namahsudras can change the political equation in the next Barak Valley elections. The meeting was attended by various office bearers of Namashudra Unnayan Samiti of Cachar, Karimganj and Hailakandi districts.
Namashudra Samaj decides to fill all the seats of Barak for the next assembly elections with the candidates belongs to their community. Recently, a meeting of the Cachar District Namahshudra Development Committee was held in accordance with the Covid protocol. The meeting was organised in a house of Raipara of Punirmukh village under the Dhalai assembly constituency.
Although the vote of Namashudra Samaj has been used as a vote bank in the election of people’s representatives, various development boards have been formed during the tenure of the present state government and no one from Namashudra Samaj has been given a place in those boards. At present, the victims of extreme deprivation are the people of the Namashudra society belonging to the Scheduled Castes. So this time they will field their own candidates in each assembly constituency according to the convenience of realizing their demands in the political arena.
In the first part of the meeting, various speakers spoke on the socio-economic aspects of the Namashudra society as well as raising awareness on the current situation of hyper-corona and ways to save oneself and others from this disease. The discussion on the evaluation of the Namashudra society in the formation of the government in the context of the political context took place in the meeting in a very important way.
