Demand for separation makes some people of Nagaland away from any type of Independence Day celebration this year. They are planning not to celebrate freedom on this 15th August in demand for separation.

Several rebel groups from Northeast India have called for a boycott of Independence Day celebration. The anti-talk faction United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA-I), National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN), and People’s Democratic Council of Karbi-Longri have called for a total ban on India’s Independence Day celebration in WeSEA (Western South East Asia) region.
