Six weeks passed when 34-year-old popular Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput was found hanging from a ceiling fan in his apartment in suburban Bandra in Mumbai on 14 June.
The mystery surrounding the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput continues to take new turns every day, with the matter now having reached the Supreme Court as well.
Rhea Chakraborty, who has been accused by Sushant Singh Rajput’s family of abetting the actor’s suicide, broke her silence in the case on Friday and released a 20-second video shot at an unknown location. In the video statement released, Chakraborty attacked the media and didn’t comment as the matter is ‘sub-judice’.
Chakraborty’s statement comes hours after the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) registered the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) case in Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case. The ED will send summons next week, as per sources.
As a reaction to the video release, Kajol Tyagi, one of her co-star from Jalebi movie slammed her after the video statement went viral. Kajol Tyagi revealed how Rhea did not allow Sushant to be in touch with any of his friends.
Sushant’s cook Neeraj on Saturday evening made some revelations about June 14, the day when Sushant allegedly died by suicide. Neeraj talked about Rhea’s presence in Sushant’s life and how he started behaving unwell after their Europe trip. He said that both Rhea and Sushant were in a happy relationship but something changed after the Europe trip and the accused actress also once threatened Neeraj about his job.
Similarly, Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s bodyguard has also alleged that he often sent by Rhea Chakraborty to purchase certain medicines for Sushant. The bodyguard revealed that he had no knowledge of those medications. He reveals that Sushant had completely changed over the last few months. He was sleeping all the time, allegedly under the influence of some medication.
A four-member team of the Patna Police is Mumbai to investigate further about the case after the actor’s father lodged a complaint under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and six others. The team reached Mumbai on July 27 and began its probe.
Meanwhile, the governments of Bihar and Maharashtra and Rajput’s father have already filed caveats in the Supreme Court seeking to be heard before any order is passed on Chakraborty’s plea.
