From Tuesday onward the government made masks mandatory in Assam. Followingly, the Deputy Commissioner of Cachar district, Keerthi Jalli is also in her best to check the spread of the virus.

Recently, Cachar district administration directed 4 executive magistrates cum Assistant Commissioners to have extensive drives in Silchar town and its adjoining areas to catch the maskless wayfarer.  Abhilash Barnawal, Vibhar Agarwal, Devajyoti Gogoi and Maria Tanim are being selected for the extensive drives.

Meanwhile, Cachar police with the help of traffic police caught many without mask on Wednesday. Those who found violating the norms had to pay fines to Cachar Police under section of Disaster Management Act and IPC.
