Cachar Deputy Commissioner Keerthi Jalli visits ISBT, Ramnagar on Wednesday to take stock of the screening camp in the wake of COVID-19 situation.
Deputy commissioner urged people not to get impatient as collection of swab is a time consuming process with all data being entered. There may be a couple of hours to wait at zonal screening because of heavy rush. Request was also made to wait for the results as it may take 5-6 days until results come because of the heavy load. The quarantined passengers may accordingly wait in the quarantine centers. She assured that things are being taken care of by the District Administration Cachar and requested for cooperation.
Deputy commissioner inspected all the buildings and inquired about the drinking water facilities, Sensitization and toilet facilities being provided to the inmates at the center. Further she stressed upon the need of additional drinking water facilities to be provided at the center and said that shops are to be open at screening camp responding to the increasing demand of people coming from outside.
In a bid to assess the screening facilities, Jalli discussed in detail with Gurnel Singh incharge of screening camp ISBT to provide the food arrangements and to keep ready vehicle for transportation of inmates as and when required and also to see the database of inmates registered and hygiene etc.
Additional Deputy commissioner Sumit Sattwan, Additional superintendent of police, Cachar (headquarter) Jagadish Das and Additional superintendent of police, Cachar (border) Gourab Agarwal are also present during her visit.
