Kamal Jain claims to develop covid detecting software
Public health experts say tracing who people infected with the coronavirus have been in contact with is a critical step in easing social distancing restrictions.

Kamal Jain claims to develop covid detecting software. A professor of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee Kamal Jain claims to have developed a software which can detect COVID-19 within five seconds.

As per reports, the professor of IIT Roorkee’s civil engineering department has filed a patent for his invention and has approached the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) for a review. The professor also claimed that his software will not only reduce testing costs but will also reduce the risk of exposure to healthcare professionals.

Jain claimed that doctors simply need to upload pictures of a person’s X-ray to use the software developed by him.He also claimed that the software he has developed will not only detect whether a patient has any sign of pneumonia but will also be able to tell whether it is due to COVID-19 or other bacteria and can also measure the severity of the infection. “The software will analyze bilateral opacity, the pattern of fluid build-up in lungs and nature of clump or clot if any,” he added.
