Inter-district stranded Labours rescue appealed to Assam Govt on International Workers’ Day. 20 Labours of Dhemaji stranded in Cachar since the lockdown.
The authority always deprive working class. Though the mankind celebrates 1st may as the Labours Day. Same thing happened with Labours in Assam. Twenty Labours of Dhemaji district were engaged in a bridge construction at zero point of Balacherra under Borkhola constituency. Now a days they are not paid as the construction work is temporarily stopped due to lockdown.
Talking with Northeast Update the Labours alleged, the contractor used to feed them thrice a day, but now only twice which is very low quality food. Till now no kind of food relief they have availed which the government has allotted. They have to survive on the herbs of the forest as a result the laborers are suffering from malnutrition.
Though the state government allowed inter-district transportation but the contractor has not taken any kind of initiative. Rather the contractor doing rude behavior with them if they want to go home. Even the Local police took no action after a joint complain.
They have a tears appeal to the government of Assam for their rescue. Other wise the hungry labors will leave for Dhemaji district on foot.
