Three days after slapping the closure notice how Pollution Control Board of Assam compelled to withdraw its order asking Oil India Ltd to shut down all operations in the Baghjan oil field of Tinsukia, Assam after a weeks-long of the blowout?
On Sunday last Oil India Ltd (OIL) had warned the Pollution Control Board of Assam (PCBA) to withdraw the closure notice from Baghjan, Tinsukia addressed to OIL. Otherwise, it will approach the Gauhati high court on Monday against the PCBA if the order to shut its Baghjan oil field is not withdrawn. Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal also expressed displeasure over the PCBA order and said authorities need to be “more sensible”.
Revoking the pressure, the Pollution Control Board of Assam (PCBA), in a letter to OIL, lastly compelled to set certain conditions for this Public Sector undertaking (PSU).
Thus PCBA lastly compelled to withdraw its closure notice against OIL in Baghjan, Assam with certain conditions that the PSU has to follow next.
