Coal Syndicate is active in Barak Valley even during the lockdown. Pradip Dutta Roy the founder president of ACKHSA has questioned the administrative role.

The Coal Syndicate has become active again in Barak Valley aft the lockdown was relaxed in Assam. Hundreds of overloaded trucks carrying illegal coal are going to Bangladesh. The illegal coal is being smuggled from Meghalaya to Bangladesh via Malidor of Cachar district through the Sutarkandi Indo-Bangla border of Karimganj.

Pradip Dutta Roy also questioned the illegal  quarrying of stone across Barak Valley. He  criticised Parimal Suklabaidya the Minister of Forest & Environment in this regard.

The CBI has taken over the charge of investigation against Coal syndicate in Barak Valley allegedly for tax evasion in the transportation of coal from Meghalaya through Cachar and Karimgnaj district by bribing Government officials.

The case was recommended for the CBI probe by Sarbananda Sonowal the Chief Minister of Assam in 2018. The Central Government referred to the case to the investigation agency by on February 20 this year.
