Central grants 20 lakh crores for Atma Nirbhar Assam. Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma explained the plan to build an Atma Nirbhar Assam as a part of Atma Nirbhar Bharat. BJP State President Ranjeet Kumar Dass also joined the press conference held at Assam Secretariat.

PM Garib Kalyan Yojana has provision for 5 kg wheat or rice per person & 1 kg pulse per family for 3 months, Rs 500 per Jan Dhan ac holder per month, free gas cylinder to poor families, increase in MNREGA to Rs 202, exgratia of Rs 1000 to poor senior citizens.
Assam’s 66,000 MSMEs shall immensely benefit from GOI’s massive relief measures incl Rs 3 lakh cr as emergency working capital of Rs. 50,000/- Crores through equity infusion, release of all payable from CPSEs. Golden opportunity for state’s enterprises to thrive.
Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed gratitude to PM Narendra Modi for allocating an additional fund of Rs. 40,000/- Crores under MGNREGS. It will help generate nearly 300 crore person days in total addressing need for more work incl returning migrant workers in Monsoon as well. Assam stands to immensely benefit.
Innumerable street vendors in Assam would benefit from the Rs. 5000/- crores Special Credit Facility for Street Vendors. The initial working capital of up to Rs. 10,000/- shall help them to stabilise and scale up their businesses.

Under One Nation One Ration Card, migrants & their family members can avail PDS system from any fair price shop in India by March 2021. This technology driven reform will be beneficial especially during transit.
Government of India has enhanced resources position of Assam govt by enhancing borrowing limit from 3 to 5% of GSDP. This will enable us to mobilize an additional Rs. 6-8k Crores. This shall go a long way in providing necessary resources to needy sectors & help in containing COVID-19.
Following PM Narendra Modi’s vision of Atma Nirbhar Bharat, the state will embark on the policy of Atma Nirbhar Assam. A committee has been formed under Samir K Sinha the Principal Secretary of Finance and with senior most secretaries of the departments to draw a road-map.
