Assam declared the results of Higher Secondary examination on Thursday, June 25. Fortunately, Assam secures best Higher Secondary pass parentage in three recent years. The Commerce stream has the highest passing ratio with 88.18 % followed by Science 88.06%. The Arts stream has the least pass percentage at 78.28%. Abhinash Kalita from Science topped with 486 marks securing 97.2%. Among regular candidates, girls recorded of 85.02% while for boys the figure was 78.63%.
The commerce stream has shown the best performance with 88.18 per cent of students passing the exam. Commerce continues to remain the best stream with the highest pass percentage for three consecutive years. This year, AHSEC’s science stream has scored the second spot with the pass percentage of 88.06 while in arts only 78.28 per cent students could pass.
While commerce might have the highest number of students passing the class 12 board exam, the top rank has been secured by a student from the science stream. The overall topper of Assam HS result 2020 is Abinash Kalita from Barpeta with 486 marks. In the arts stream, two students – Pubali Dekha from Darrang and Shraddha Borgohain from Nagaon have jointly topped Assam HS with 481 marks out of 500. In commerce stream, Krishna Maheswari from Dibrugarh has obtained rank 1 with 471 marks.
Sivasagar is the best performing district this year overall. In the arts stream, the Darrang is the best performing district with a pass percentage of 89.07 followed by Sivasagar at 88.66 per cent. In commerce, even though Chirang (37 stuents), West K Anglomg (one student only), and Majuli (27 students) have given 100 per cent result, Sivasagar has got 95.50 per cent pass percentage. Sivasagar tops in science stream with a pass percentage of 95.97 per cent.
Darrang district with 89.07% had the best pass percentage among all districts while Hailakandi with 56.29% was at the bottom. Chirang, Majuli and West Karbi Anglong districts recorded 100% pass percentage.
Abinash Kalita of Anundoram Barooah Academy, Barpeta secured the first position in the Science stream scoring 486 marks out of 500. Nayeema Firdous Borbhuyan got 482 from Concept Junior College, Nagaon came second and Preetpal Bezbaruah secured 481from Sai Vikash Junior College, Guwahati came third.
Krishna Maheswari of Salt Brook Academy, Dibrugarh was the topper in the Commerce stream securing 471 marks of a total 500.
Harpreet Kaur of Sonari Junior College, Charaideo came second with 468 marks followed by Binita Saha who secured 466 from Ramanuj Gupta Junior College, Cachar.
Pubali Deka of Patharighat Higher Secondary School in Darrang and Shraddha Borgohain of Nagaon were the joint 1st rank holders in the Arts stream securing 481 marks of a total 500. A total of 44 students were in the list of top 10 rank holders.
