A total of 197 high schools, 9 higher secondary schools, 149 senior secondary schools or junior colleges and 27 degree colleges has provincialised in Assam.

Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma informs that the Assam government has provincialised 355 educational institutes under the department of secondary education and 27 colleges under the ambit of the department of higher education.

Biswa Sarma also informs that a total of 22 thousand girls who achieved first division in recent Higher Secondary examination from Assam state board (AHSEC) will be getting a scooty each to reach their future colleges. The government of Assam has taken this interesting step to motivate the daughters of the state to pursue higher education after HS.

Moreover the girls and families those need an electric scooty instead of fuel scooty can apply for it accordingly. On the contrary, the beneficiaries can not sell the scooties before 3 years.

Himanta Biswa Sarma also has directed the undergraduate colleges to increase 25% of the seats for new admission aimed this year of COVID pandemic. The students who passed form Assam state board (AHSEC) only can avail this benefit.
