Employees union protest against railway privatisation. The NF Railway Employees Union held a protest rally against the government decision on Wednesday at Silchar railway station.

In the morning, the members of the union took out a procession protesting the government’s decision displaying banners and placards. The rally uprooted the station with anti-government slogan. The union secretary Kalyan Nath, president Sujan Mitra, among others were present in the rally.

Mention can be made, Narendra Modi  led central government decided to hand over various sections of the Indian Railways to the private sectors. Initially, the central government took the decision to hand over 23 stations to the private organizations.
