Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP chief Amit Shah handed over Asthi Kalash of Atal Bihari Vajpayee to the party chiefs in different states on Wednasday in Delhi. Home Minister Rajnath Singh and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj joined Modi and Shah in handing over Asthi Kalash.
The ashes of the former prime minister will be immersed in over 100 sacred rivers across the country. In this regard the BJP has decided to take out the ‘Asthi Kalash Yatra’ in all the states of the country so that people can offer tributes to the former prime minister. Processions will start from today from state capitals and pass through all blocks, party leaders said.
The “asthi visarjan” (immersion of ashes in river) ritual of the late Atal Bihari Vajpayee held in Har Ki Pauri of Haridwar on August 19. Vajpayee was 93 when he passes away on August 16 following a prolonged illness.
